I feel that Montessori has helped my daughter become more independent and responsible for herself and for her own learning. She responds to the high level of respect that her teachers show her here.

Language Materials

The Metal Insets exercises directly prepare the child for handwriting by strengthening the three finger grip and coordinating the necessary wrist movements. These exercises also help the child develop lightness of touch and evenness of pressure through drawing activities.
The Printed Alphabet is used for writing words, sentences, and creative story writing. Twenty-four of each pastic letter are printed in lower case on one side and upper case on the reverse.
The Sandpaper Letters guide the hand for writing as the child traces the letter shapes in the style and direction that they are written. Consonants are printed on pink boards, vowels on blue. Each board has a a space on the left and the right for the child to steady it with one hand while tracing the letter with the other.
