Don’t worry, we’re bringing our playground equipment with us!
Our long-term plan is to remove most of the asphalt behind the school and turn it into a much larger playground, rain gardens, vegetable and flower beds, and outdoor classroom space. We also need to enclose the playground in a 6-foot fence for safety.
Your contribution helps offset the immediate cost of fencing, adding mulch to appropriate depth, expanding the mulched area for our dome climber, and moving and reinstalling our current playground equipment. We are also having our traffic flow pattern professionally designed to ensure a safe and smooth dropoff and pickup experience.
Our new embankment slide is in storage because we realized we would be moving before installing it. We plan to build a new peace hill to install the slide at the new campus, but funding constraints require that to wait until later. If we receive enough support for the playground now, we may be able to add it this Summer.
